Surrey Energy Management is an organisation set up with the key
objective of helping clients reduce their carbon footprint – and hence
their energy costs.
In the UK, approximately 44%
of carbon emissions are estimated to come from buildings. This can be
split down into commercial – 17 % and Residential 27%. Clearly, there
are enormous opportunities for us all not only to live in a cleaner
world, but also to live and work in buildings that cost far less to
heat and cool.
Today these initiatives are largely
driven by government legislation, both in the commercial arena and in
residential properties.
As our name implies, we
are focussed primarily - but not exclusively - on providing clients in
and around Surrey with industry-best service levels. We aspire to
provide the local, accountable service at highly competitive rates.
The
requirement for both Commercial and Residential EPC’s is driven by the
EU directive ‘Energy Performance of Buildings Directive’ (EPBD) and
requires compliance by all member countries. Introduction has been on a
phased programme since August 1st 2007 and from January 2009, all
buildings – both commercial and residential – are required to have an
EPC at sale, let.(including sub-letting)
Surrey
Energy Management sees it’s priorities as firstly ensuring that our
clients meet current legislation and then most importantly, working
with them to reduce their energy costs.
