Laser Tattoo Removal

Laser treatment is a popular technique used to fade and remove unwanted tattoos. The success of the treatments depends on type of tattoo and ink.

We use a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser to fade tattoos. This has two separate wavelengths so that different coloured inks can be treated. The bright light of the laser heats up the tattoo ink and causes it to fade.

The fading is slow and many treatments are usually required. Black ink absorbs all the laser light and therefore does the best. Some coloured inks are very tough and will not fade with any laser. Green ink usually falls into this category. Amateur indian ink tattoos respond very well to treatment. Multi coloured professional tattoos do less well.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal has revolutionised the treatment of unwanted hair. The bright red laser light heats dark hair follicles and suppresses their growth.

All parts of the body can be treated. Several treatments are required and best results are achieved with dark hair. It will not work with white hair.

We use either an Alexandrite laser or a long pulsed Nd:YAG laser, and can treat all skin colours.

Different areas of the body and different skin types give different results so please read below if you are considering treatment.

Age Spots & Brown Mark Laser Treatment

Age spots on the hands usually respond well to laser treatment.

A great variety of disorders can cause brown marks. Depending on the diagnosis treatments include prescription creams, laser, IPL and excisional biopsy. Pigment disorders can be difficult to improve and no treatment may be possible.
