saw a major step in the company's growth with the addition
of a Garment & Textile Care Centre in Ipswich Road,
off Colchester Avenue, Cardiff, which is open to the
public. This centre is a unique operation in Wales,
which enables us not only to provide a high quality
dry cleaning & laundry service, but also specialist
services for your more precious or valuable clothes
and furnishings. Why invest in expensive and valuable
garments and textiles and not look after them?
Our
new centre houses the latest equipment available in
the Industry, together with the highest level of skilled
staff. These two factors ensure that your clothing and
textiles are given the best possible attention during
cleaning and finishing. Furthermore the construction
of today's garments is becoming increasingly complex,
and therefore the cleaning, stain removal and finishing
is a very skilled procedure which we are ideally placed
to deal with.
We
as a company are dedicated to maintaining the highest
standards of clothing and soft furnishings care whilst
providing a real value for money.
Garment and Textile Care is the business
in which we operate and have attained significant skill
and knowledge. Each garment is treated individually
whilst in our care and categorised for the most appropriate
cleaning method. Whilst the overall method of Dry Cleaning
is similar for all garments, we do offer a two tier
service from which our customers can normally select
their preference. There are instances when garments
will automatically be attended with on our Premier service,
for instance when they are either of high value or of
a designer nature.

Shirt Service:
We
pride ourselves on the quality of our hand finished
shirt service. Each shirt is laundered and dried utilising
bespoke methods, and then carefully hand pressed to
the highest possible standard. Shirts can either be
returned on hangers or boxed.
Wet Cleaning:
An
individual service for Laundry and Garments that
require Wet Cleaning.

Duvets & Sleeping Bags:
A fully refreshing service for both polyester and feather
duvets and sleeping bags. Each item is individually
washed or cleaned, dried and packaged. Items can be
used immediately upon collection or stored in the purposed
carriers for future use.
Stain Removal:
Dry Cleaning is a good process for removing the every day grime and
grease that is attracted to our clothing and textiles,
but is not very successful at removing a vast quantity
of other stains that we commonly encounter. Whilst the
day to day soiling attracted through general wear is usually
removed with standard stain removal and cleaning, more
ingrained or significant stains (Red Wine, Tea, Beetroot,
Dye etc.) require special attention. We have developed
techniques over the years, which are extremely successful.
We have two spotting booths at our Garment & Textile
Care Centre which house a variety of detergents and chemicals
which we carefully use in stain removal.
Fast Clean:
Our normal service is 72 Hours,
but the majority of garments can be cleaned sooner utilising
our fast clean service. There is a small charge for this
service.
Wedding Gowns:
We
at David Barnes are all fully aware of the importance
and value of your precious garments and take great care
in every respect. All garments receive the highest possible
care and attention at every stage.
Pre-Cleaning:
Whilst Dry Cleaning is exceptionally
proficient at removing grease based stains, it is not
very effective on water or alcohol sugar based stains.
These must be removed prior to cleaning. Therefore,
irrespective of the method of cleaning chosen, all garments
are carefully checked for apparent stains, and pre-spotted
using skilled techniques. This ensures that the best
results are achieved.
