John Waring has been a self employed acoustic consultant since 1989, & is a full member of the Institute of Acoustics. He is a sole trader operating from Ludlow, covering the entire country carrying out noise surveys & assessments or assisting in the design of dwellings, pubs & clubs, auditoria design, studios, schools, factories etc. He offers a wide range of knowledge and expertise gained through years of experience in the field of acoustics & noise control.

He could assess how noise issues in your project should be addressed following which the scope of work required would be set out for you as a written Proposal for your perusal, together with a lump sum quotation. (The Proposal also would include a short C.V. & confirmation of his qualifications & experience). Should you wish the Proposal may also be submitted to the local authority or any other interested parties if required.

Typical projects undertaken include:

Environmental noise assessments to BS 4142 "Method for Rating industrial noise affecting mixed residential & industrial areas", & submission of a report making recommendations for measures to adopt so as to reduce noise, if appropriate, encroaching into the nearby dwellings.

Take noise readings & undertake a traffic or railway noise survey to the Department of the Environment document: "PPG 24 Planning Policy Guidance: Planning & Noise" which gives guidance for noise exposure categories for residential developments to be introduced near a source of noise.
