Noise and Vibration
Noise and Vibration problems are becoming more prevalent as the world around us becomes more and more mechanised.
Prior to any residential development and during construction noise and
vibration may have to be monitoried to ensure the safety of employees,
the general public and sensitive properties.
The European Physical Agents Directive 2003/10/EC
introduced an obligation for all member states to create specific
Statutory Instruments to deal with Noise and Vibration. As such the
United Kingdom published the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005
and the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005. These articles
of legislation created a specific obligation for all UK employers to
control the risks associated with noise and vibration exposure.
Training
Effective HS&E performance is increasingly dependent upon the
awareness, proficiency and motivation of your team. The right
equipment, plant, processes and procedures only get you so far: the
weak link nowadays is usually the operator or employee. HS&E
legislation increasingly specifies information, instruction and
training as a key element of the HS&E risk management system.
