The unique and fresh taste of Swale Valley Spring Water is a reflection of its source in the complex rock layers of Swaledale. The aquifers exist in a massive carboniferous limestone area, overlain with boulder clay. This clay and the natural rock outcrops in Swaledale allow the aquifers to be slowly but constantly recharged.
Swaledale is endowed with high rainfall levels and coupled with low evaporation from the land, the rain water meanders its way slowly through the boulder clay and limestone, being filtered by the limestone and collecting minerals on its way to the aquifers. Thus creating this fresh, mineral rich spring water.
