Utility Savings Corporation was formed in 1998 (when the electricity market was first deregulated) to meet the needs of the business sector for impartial advice on energy supplies. Since then we have grown to a substantial business with staff possessing in depth knowledge and expertise of the energy sector. The benefits of deregulation and privatisation were initially realised with lower prices but volatility in the energy markets has seen steep price increases up to 2008 followed by some reduction in 2009. From being a smaller part of business overheads gas and electricity charges now rate higher in importance for effective management of costs.
